Thermogroup
Case Study

About

Thermogroup combines expertise in electric heating with a desire to change how homes are heated, creating high quality electric heating systems that are naturally better by design. Living spaces are transformed into energy-efficient places of comfort without impacting the environment.

Brief

Thermogroup was expanding quickly and wanted to ensure its packaging processes were optimised to keep up with demand. They were looking for a more cost-effective packaging solution with the same high level of performance, and a guarantee that the packaging would always be available when needed.

Findings

Actionpoint arranged for a qualified technician to conduct an independent Insight packaging process review. The auditor visited Thermogroup to assess its operation and identify where and how improvements could be made. These findings were written up in a comprehensive report and shared with all parties.

The technician concluded there was scope to reduce packaging costs, and that Thermogroup would benefit from freeing up valuable warehouse space for its own goods rather than for packaging. What they really needed was a faultless packaging supply.

Solution

Actionpoint gathered samples of Thermogroup’s packaging for independent testing to check the accuracy of the specifications. Using this information, Actionpoint could design packaging alternatives that met Thermogroup’s needs at a much lower price. To address the issue of storage and supply, Thermogroup entered into a stockholding agreement with Actionpoint. This ensured that a rolling stock of all their packaging products would be held at one of our warehouses, ready for immediate despatch.

  • Delivered savings of between 5 and 18% across the packaging process
  • Independent testing of current packaging
